is a United States Marine Corps veteran and multidisciplinary artist based in Dallas, TX. }
{
His creative practice now centers on 2D/3D animation and motion graphics, building on a strong foundation in fine art, custom design, and graphic illustration. As a published illustrator, fashion designer, and filmmaker, Richard brings a dynamic and versatile voice to every project he takes on.

Richard grew up surrounded by rice fields and highlands in the province of Cavite, where art became an emotional outlet and a way to navigate the challenges of daily life. In 2001, he moved to Quezon City to live with his aunt and uncle, whose care and support allowed him to nurture his creativity through exploring various art mediums and styles. }
{
He began by entering art contests and taking on small commissions, eventually apprenticing under established artists who mentored him in the early stages of his development. From redesigning business signs to painting murals, Richard embraced every opportunity to grow as a young artist.

Richard’s artistic journey was heavily influenced by 1990s and 2000s pop culture, especially anime and comic books. Drawing became both a passion and an escape, often shared through sketches gifted to friends. In 2006, he moved to the U.S. and continued his education in Lebanon, Missouri, where he pursued freelance projects, painted murals, and won several art competitions. }

His high school achievements include first-place awards in Army patch redesign, robotics logo, and science poster contests. He received the VFW Young American Creative Patriotic Art Award and was recognized in the Violence Awareness art competition. Richard also designed the school planner cover, published artwork in The Delphian Chronicles, and contributed to campus life through the International and Art Clubs—all while playing varsity soccer.

In 2009, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Aircraft Maintenance Administration Specialist. During basic training, he was selected as the “Artist Recruit,” creating artwork to represent his platoon. His creative skills continued to stand out in the fleet, where he was commissioned to redesign unit logos and paint commemorative portraits for the families of fallen service members. }

In 2012, both East and West Coast Comptrollers tasked him with painting motivational murals aboard the S.S. Wright (Baltimore, MD) and S.S. Curtiss (San Diego, CA). These works boosted morale and remain on display for military personnel and international visitors. }
{
Richard re-enlisted in 2014 as an Expeditionary Airfield Technician, serving under Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 at Bogue Field, NC. There, he created ceremonial murals used in platoon formations and official events. Before concluding his service, he was commissioned by his Commanding Officer to paint a 30 ft x 12 ft mural celebrating 30 years of the unit’s history—now permanently displayed at MWSS-274 Headquarters, Cherry Point, NC. }

He was awarded a Meritorious Mast for painting three large-scale murals on the flight deck of the S.S. Wright in Baltimore, MD, during the 2012 Bold Alligator Exercise—a joint international military operation. }

His work significantly enhanced the ship’s appearance and reflected pride in unit identity. }

He also received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance as Company Operations Chief, where he oversaw planning and operations. In addition to his leadership role, he contributed original artwork and design work across various departments during the Weapons Instructor Course at Site-50, Yuma, AZ—efforts that boosted morale and improved the base’s visual environment.

After serving eight years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps, Richard earned a degree in Business Administration and Marketing, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Film, Cinema, and Video Studies from NC State University in 2021—broadening his expertise at the intersection of creativity and strategy. }

Now based in Dallas, Texas, he is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Animation while continuing to expand his visual arts practice. Richard maintains a growing list of private and commercial clients, providing custom artwork and media solutions across a range of creative needs. }
