LAST TAGAMANMAN
SYNOPSYS
.png)
In a reimagined alternate history, long before globalization, an army of Tikbalang (Werehorse) invades a coastal village under cover of fog and fire. Told from the eyes of a young Tagamanman (Scout), the story follows his desperate escape through fire, crumbling bridges and flaming arrows. Entrusted with a secret scroll meant only for higher authorities, the scout races for safety. Will the last tagamanman survive this ordeal?
Blending Filipino Folklore with speculative history, this animated short serves as a prologue to resilience, identity and the mythic heroes that might have been.

Concept Art
The Tikbalang is a creature of Philippine folklore said to lurk in the mountains and rainforests of the Philippines. It is a tall, bony humanoid creature with the head and hooves of a horse and disproportionately long limbs, to the point that its knees reach above its head when it squats down.
As the last of his kind, he carries the weight of a fading legacy, traveling with only his trusted companion a giant wolf by his side. Together, they face the unknown, uncover ancient truths, and forge a path shaped by survival, loyalty, and hope.
"The Last Tagamanman" (or "The Last Scout") is a fictional character I created to serve as the central protagonist of an adventurous and emotionally driven narrative.
The story unfolds from his point of view, allowing the audience to journey alongside him through a vast and mysterious world.
